Dr Reena Kotecha

Dr Reena Kotecha developed ‘Mindful Medics: Healthcare starts with Self Care’, a training program designed for healthcare workers to promote personal health, wellbeing and professional productivity. She studied at the Imperial College London, worked as a hospital doctor in the National Health Service and now uses an evidence based approach to help GPs and non-clinical staff achieve personal wellbeing.

Dr Lee David is a GP with an interest in mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She has a clinical role for Practitioner Health in the United Kingdom, an organisation dedicated to supporting doctors and other health practitioners with their mental health and wellbeing.

Your Medical Director is well placed as an initial point of contact to raise any concerns you may have. As an experienced clinician, they will treat your concerns with respect and confidentiality and help you with appropriate resources and support. They can also work with you and the medical centre to support you in your practice and make any adjustments needed.

Your Regional Clinical Director

Your Regional Clinical Director is available if you prefer to discuss your concerns away from the medical centre. They are experienced in supporting GPs with a variety of issues and can offer helpful resources and can work collaboratively with your local team.

DRS4DRS

DRS4DRS provides crisis support and non-urgent mental health support for doctors and medical students. It is free, confidential and available 24/7. Call 1300 374 377.

This is an AMA register of state based GPs who are specifically committed to delivering care to their GP colleagues.

Hand-n-Hand (Helping Australian & New Zealand Nurses & Doctors)

Hand-n-Hand offers free, confidential peer support for health practitioners. Initially founded at the start of COVID-19, hundreds of people have now joined the growing peer support movement.

RACGP GP Support Program

This is a free service offered by the RACGP to help foster a culture of self-care among GPs. RACGP Members can access professional advice to help you cope with life's stressors that can impact your wellbeing, work performance, safety, morale and psychological health.
